The Epsilon Eta Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta is excited to bring Autism Speaks to the South Dakota State University campus community. The worlds's largest autism advocacy organization, Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, to funding research and to the causes, prevention and treatments for autism, and to advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
The Autism Speaks official website notes it's mission statement as follows: "Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
Autism Speaks enhances lives today and is accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow."
Our sisters look forward to increasing autism awareness on our campus and working with Autism Speaks. With 1 in 68 children diagnosed with autism and no known cure, Alpha Xi Delta is committed to improving the lives of children and families affected by autism. We hope our fundraising and awareness efforts can help put one more piece of the autism puzzle in place.
